Winning the Jackpot

Ben posted this entry on the recent record RM20million payout on the Toto 6/52 lottery.

I’m not a lottery junkie but most of the time I can’t help dreaming about winning the jackpot myself.  Anyways…the comments thread on Ben’s entry made me want to share a few so called “inspiration” :-

1. While driving a piece of paper flew onto my windshield and got stuck at the wipers. It was within reach of my sister who was on the left side.  On it were some numbers…I think a 4 digit number.  I jokingly said…maybe we should by 4D…which I didnt.   On that  Wedneday STC draw….my car plate no…came out first prize.

2. My cousin’s car no is 8778 while I was in KL with him.  When I returned home to sabah…on the way home…I saw a car with no plate 8778.  A few days later I saw the same no on a different car.  I didn’t buy any ticket…though I had the urge. If you check the stats…you will see this number was up a few times.

3. A couple of years ago, one of the ministry’s 4wd vehicle suddenly caught fire.  A fire engine was called in to douse the fire.  Then I noticed that the fire truck had the same plate numbers but a backward image of the number on the 4wd vehicle.   I told one of my staff who was a 4D junkie about it and suggested he buy the number.  Unfortunately he only bought the number from the 88 outlet.  One of the numbers won Special on STC on the same draw date.

4. While driving to church, I saw another vehicle with backward numbers of our new viva plates then. I told my wife…maybe we should pau our viva’s plate number that day.  Unfortunately we didn’t get to buy the number cos’ we were so influenced by the preacher’s sermon about God’s providence and contentment in life..haha.  The next day…one of the permutations won consolation.  Sure win if we had pau’ed the number.

5. When my wife was pregnant, she dreamt a weird dream when summed up contains the plate no. of her former car.  As usual we didn’t buy any tickets.  It was up for consolation that week

So did these “inspiration” make me want to be a lottery junkie?  No.  Personally I just don’t like the feeling when I didn’t win any besides the waste of money. But it’s still fun to dream though..haha.  One of those dreams was to have our own home theatre complete with home theatre seating for 50 people…hehe…in my dreams.
