That seems to be the latest catch phrase from Microsoft’s up coming product.  All in, contribute towards a so called “new” efficiency bottom line.  The products that will be launched are Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and Exchange Server 201o.  Though I’m a strong proponent of Open Source, I’m still a user of proprietary software particularly Microsofts.  But I subscribe to the openness, flexibility and open standards concepts of Open Source.

I’m a late user when it comes to adopting newer software.  I was still using Windows 2000 Professional when most people are already using Windows XP.  Currently I’m still using Windows XP Professional when everyone else have Windows Vista.  However after hearing the good reviews about Windows 7, I plan to adopt it early since I will be getting a new notebook soon for my post-grad studies.

I’m also a strong believer in archiving your email for historical and future reference.  I find it very useful to retain your emails.  The new Exchange Server 2010 features powerful email archiving services.  It has a feature called legal hold of emails.  I believe this is in compliance with all the latest data preservation acts such as SOX.

So what do I expect?  Well with all the hype Microsoft put into their new products, I do hope they will deliver the desired outcomes for the customer. If that fails, there’s always a cheaper alternative.
