House Hunting
May 20th, 2010 Posted in Business, InvestmentOne of our goals is finding a nice property nearby our work place. Not so near the city but not so far either. A colleague of mine has related his experience in building his own house to the point that he can write a book about it. I guess there are pros and cons in building your own house. If we managed to get a small lot, we would build one ourselves. But land is so hard to come by these days. The other option is to find a built-up house. The price of residential properties these days are ridiculously high. For example a 1600 sqr foot house will normally cost at at least RM320K. That’s just to much. Your credit reports must be in order to obtain a housing loan too. The next option is to find an older house that has bigger area.

Been doing my own “window shopping” on KK houses lately too. I agree they’re ridiculously overpriced. Just another 10-15 kms off KK (Inanam, Menggatal, Lok Kawi) and the prices are slashed by half. I’m still waiting for that bubble to burst like 10 yrs ago when it did.
