Going back to Digot Beach

Two weeks ago my mom asked me to drive her back to her village for some errands.  I took the opportunity to visit my childhood favourite beach, Digot.  Digot beach is actually a small peninsula located at the Ambong Bay.  When I was young till my teenage years, I used to frequently visit this place.  Back then it was very clean and beautiful.  The beach is quite secluded and protected so it was safe to swim.  The beach is a mixture of soft and rough sand, remnants of hard coral.  It reminds me of the natural beaches of Okinawa.  It could have been a great getaway place, even cell phones don’t have reception.   When the tide is out, you could actually walk till the middle of the bay. A long time ago someone decided to drive his LandRover jeep during low tide but got stuck instead. So he had to abandon the vehicle in the middle of the bay.  For a long time, you could see the jeep frame as it was made of aluminum.  By now I think it’s already long gone or have turned into a coral refuge.
