At the Kalimaran

This is the first time that I’ve witnessed the Murut festival of Kalimaran.  Held yearly at the Murut Cultural Centre on the way to Tenom. It’s unlike any entertainment centers because it mainly serves as a showcase of Murut culture.  I was anticipating more of culture but I was quite dissapointed.  There was too much commercial activities ie people selling useless stuff.  Anyways I’ve had some opportunities to take photos though.  I think the Murut culture is the most colorful and most appealing of all cultures in the state.  I’m glad that I’ve managed to bring my son along cos’ he has a quarter Murut blood in him.

Disappointing? Meaning you wouldn’t recommend going there?

It depends on what you’re looking for. It was my first time going there…sad to say I wasn’t impressed. I was expecting more showcase about the Murut culture. The organiser could have done better.
