Annual Dinner done!
December 9th, 2009 Posted in InspirationLast weekend was the culmination of months of preparation towards my former ministry’s annual dinner. Actually the dinner was organized by the ministry’s cooperative body of which I’m one of the board member. I was picked to head the committee to organize the dinner. Initially I had some doubts as I do not have much experience in such task except for being members on past dinner committee. Nevertheless I took it as a challenge and a learning experience.
Fortunately everything went on smoothly. Thanks to the commitments given by the committee members, a lot of personal prayers and all the management experience. The main concern I had was not so much of the tables but the guest of honor, who happens to be one of the deputy chief minister. He is known to be very particular of the functions. To cut the story short, everything wen on fine.
The night was filled with live entertainment and the widely anticipated event was the lucky draw prizes. How I wish we had someone sponsor an xbox 360, it would be nice to have won it. Anyways, I’m glad the event was over on time. I think that is one of my greatest personal accomplishments of the year.

Congrats – it’s an achievement to savour, and as foundation for the next, ever higher mountain. My unforgettable experience in organising dinners must be that 2007 one where I had to deal with Maestro to get AF star Velvet to perform.

Actually I used that dinner as a guide cos’ the GOH was the same person. In this case prior experience was critical.

Good job on the Annual Dinner, Disney. I have to look for 4K for four tables, aaargh…Government dinners used to be more spontaneous tho…example, dancing beyond 12 midnite. Sign of the times, I guess – busy, busy, busy…

Rayner, thanks for stopping by. I like the title of your blog. Will find time to explore it. BTW, thanks for the 4K worth of support
. Yup I wished it was spontaneous too but I was forwarned of the DCM. So better play safe. Tho I’m no longer with the ministry but the experience and joy working there still hold dearly to my heart. Hopefully I can go back and serve there again. So many unfinished task.
