A Great Day for Democracy and Rule of Law
May 11th, 2009 Posted in Malaysia, Politics
After three months of political uncertainties in Perak, the Kuala Lumpur High Court today upheld the appointment of Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin as the righful Menteri Besar (Chief Minister). Personally I detest the way the BN state assemblymen wrested the mandate of the people from the opposition Pakatan Rakyat. I believe it should have been resolved by going back to the polls to elect a new government earlier. And that is just what the first act Nizar will take, that is to seek the audience of the Sultan of Perak on dissoving the State Assembly. That is the right and ethical way, since PKR has been weakened by the defection of three assemblymen to the BN. I bet PKR will win big time this next round.
As a citizen I am happy for the people of Perak. Regardless who rules, it must be done the right way.
Latest update 12 May 2009: Dr Zambry appeal for stay of execution on the ruling made yesterday was granted. These politicians should start on colonix cos’ they are full of it.
